Why Do We Need ISO 45001?

ISO 45001 specifies the requirements for an occupational health and safety management system. Common Injuries
It may seem extreme but falling over can harm someone that it could change their life! Slips, trips, and falls are the most common workplace accident and can be reduced by other employees performing their own duty of care. If there is a wire on the floor, moving it to a better place can prevent somebody tripping over it, if the floor is wet then placing a wet floor sign around the area will make people aware. Minor jobs such as this take two minutes and create a huge difference in the safety of your employees.
Overexertion injuries and muscle strains can cause long-term effects to people’s health and can be prevented with the correct training procedures and awareness on how to move and lift items. Taking frequent breaks from lifting heavy material can also reduce pain and gives your employees an opportunity to stretch and rest to feel more comfortable.
It is common to hear that companies have been hit with large fines or even closure due to accidents that could have been prevented. This goes to show that, with the correct training, your employees can take small actions which prevent large consequences.
Health and Safety Legislations
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, is a legislation that states that employers are responsible for protecting the safety of their employees at work by preventing hazards from occurring. The general duties employees could have is being aware of emissions or the atmosphere, the machinery being used, substances use, and more, and implementing ways employees can still be safe whilst working around this atmosphere. Failure to be compliant with laws and legislations could land your business with heavy fines or closure.
